here is my last sweater before i sewed it together. i loomed it from shoulders down. much easier to shape. i didn't make it long enough tho so i have to figure out how to add on without it looking like i added on...

Afghan and Sweater

Just finished another afghan...this time its Devine yarn....feels so good. And a sweater with Bohemian yarn. I have 1 sleeve to go on another sweater made with Black Lites. The black lites one is coming out much better, somehow 1 sleeve on the bohemian got twisted and it pulls everything out of whack so i will redo it.

Gathered Scarf

This is my gathered scarf, or "made in the dark" scarf cos the power went off for 6 hours. Its Caron Simply Soft Tweed, I love this yarn. I gathered from the inside about every 7 inches, it looks really nice, doesn't show up in the pic. very well. I also made ascarf from Patons Bliss. I want to make a sweater out of this stuff! Its so soft and cuddly, the color I had, red, isn't for me though...don't know why I bought it. I'm finishing sleeve #1 of a sweater out of Patons Bohemian Don't know if I'll have enough to finish but will get a few more skeins next time I go to Carson City. I will also start collecting more fun fur so I can redo my 1st sweater.

This is what I've been working on lately. It started as the Square Motif Scarf at Lion Bran Yarn website and grew into an afghan!

well, this is one of the 3 afghans I'm working on. I love making the squares but I need to start sewing them together. Its off white, black and grey, the colors aren't showing in the picture. The pattern is at Lion Brand Yarn, the square motif scarf. It just grew into an afghan!

I've been working on an afghan for months...not THIS afghan tho. I got tired of working on the other one and just started playing with some voodoo yarn. It really doesn't go very far, each square of voodoo is 2 skeins, so i used Red Heart for the rest. I couldn't match the dark brown voodoo so this is how it ended up. My dad likes it. I have started 2 other afghans and 'the' afghan (i will finish it...but i got another idea and i like it better than what I have so now I'm debating taking apart what I started) I am crocheting 1, i found a scarf pattern and liked it so decided to make it an afghan....don't know why I'm so into afghans. Guess I'm expecting a long cold winter. YUK!!!

Knit wit flowers

Ok, here are 2 flowers done on the Knit wit... the 1st one is with a fuzzy yarn, the lable fell off so i have no idea what the name is, i reall like the feel of it but its not for flowers. the second is with simply soft. its really easy and they are cute

Finished Shawl

Heres the Fabulous shawl with the added strip to make it wider. I love what it looks like, but it sure grew in both directions. And Now you can't see the pattern of wrappin 2 and skipping 1. Oh well.

Had to add a picture of Snooker. A beautiful example of the Australian Shepherd breed. Until I pick up the camera. Then he sticks out his tongue and looks dumb. This is a good picture tho... But then I am his "mom". He's very helpful, carries things upstairs for me, unfortunately he won't give whatever he's carrying to anyone but me so I have to make the climb anyway. If I drop something, paper, laundry he will pick it up and follow me. I had bags of yarn spread out on the floor one day, "organizing", I couldn't reach the bag I wanted and kiddingly asked him to hand it to me, he stuck his nose in the bag very carefully and brought me 1 skein of yarn. So smart!

Wrapping with a straw

Just a quick post to show how to wrap using a straw. keeps tension even. Coarse if your like me this will make you a straw thief! I now collect straws, different kinds for different yarns.

Fabulous Shawl

i got 2 pictures of the shawl I've been working on. Its called fabulous cos thats the name of one of the yarns, not cos I think its fabulous! Actually its too narrow so I'm doing another strip to add to it. I love what it looks like with the fabulous running thru it, and the Caron simply Soft feels so..soft!

Fun Fur Sweater

Finally a picture, even tho its not finished. This is my mom, Bea, 86 years old. I am going to add 2 small panels to the front with buttons and a collar. It looks like a fur jacket but its very light. Its made from 2 strands of fun fur, very stretchy! I wasn't planning on it being as stretchy as it is so I'm making adjustments. Almost finished with a kimono from Lion Brand. And a shawl... well I am going to rip that out and start again since I don't have enough Caron Fabulous. So I will start again using only 1 strand of Fabulous instead of 2.

2nd post, hopefully this will work better than the 1st!

To the left, hopefully the picture is where its supposed to be, is a diagram of how to wrap a flat piece on a round loom. I had so much trouble with this when I started and I know alot of other new loomers do so hopefully this will help.

Welcome to my little space on the internet. I'm Linda, I live on the north-east shore of Lake Tahoe. Probably one of the most beautiful places on earth. I can't wait to get out of here! Snow. I hate snow! Anyway, this blog is about loom knitting, well mostly, I may throw some other stuff in here. I am a cake decorator. Hmmmm that picture of the cakes was supposed to go here, not on top, oh well. I'll figure this thing out eventually.

OK. I starting looming just before Christmas. Its so addictive. I have managed to ignore winter pretty much by looming, and not looking out the window. I've made several magic scarves
